Football is a simple game. Twenty-two players chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end.. Ryanair always wins! ⚽✈

With just a couple more weeks of EURO 2024 action, it’s clear that #airlines are poised to be among the tournament’s star performers – regardless of what happens on the pitch! Flight capacity to Germany during the tournament is up 5% vs the same period last year, indicating a significant boost in travel demand. However, proprietary Athenx data reveals that, similar to the action on the field, there are both winners and losers in the skies.

A snapshot of Athenx revenue projections taken in the run-up to the competition shows that low-cost carriers #Ryanair and Eurowings, with their dynamic and flexible strategies, are outperforming their competitors – scoring metaphorical goals and capturing a larger share of the market.

As the tournament progresses, it’s evident that the agility and adaptability of no-frills airlines are key to their success. While the final results on the pitch are yet to be determined, in the airline industry, the low-cost carriers are already emerging as the champions.
